Blowing or not? - c20xe

Is it just my car, or has anyone else got a noise similar to a blowing exhaust when giving an XE engine some stick on acceleration?

Ive heard a similar noise on a cavalier and wasnt sure if its just the exhaust or noisey cams...

The std exhaust manifold is what causes the rasp

Probably the standard famous red top rasp....more of a silent rasp than a blowout sound though? blowout would sound more like a missing back box... I'd love to put a red top in my Nova and mod the std cav/astra exhaust to fit the Nova to get the rasp lol.

Stick you hand (or hands depending how big the pipe is) over the end of your exhausts, should have lots of back pressure. If its blowing anywhere you will hear it futher down the system.

They do have a rasp to them, sound kinda jap
