Right on my e16se ive had a lose wire there for ages and i dont know what its for, ive looked to see where it can go but theres nowhere, it comes outof the loom that feeds the starter motor and the little blue wire that does the temperature gauge, im guessing its something to do with the dials as wen it earths out it blows a fuse that links to the dials. anyone? if not im going to cut it off.

Has it allways been a 1600? As iirc thats the choke light on other models, with autochoke.

My GSi has always had it & did think to start a similar thread the other day..... I've no idea, but it gets on my goat too.

iirc its for the oil pressure.

Then it woukd be plugged in. I think it is a carb pre-heater signal.

not really as the sensor for the pressue has two connections instead of one and thats why the cable is just left hanging there

its somthing to do with the carb as on my e16se that had a pierburg slapped on it. the wire was plugged in on 2 wires that came from each side of the carb

just checked the haynes and i stand corrected. it connects to the carburretor heater and automatic choke and also the idle cut off solenoid.
