Overview
This guide details how to inset images to your posts on PNG. I use manual tags for this, as I find it easier than using the insert image button (http://www.pngclub.com/forum/images/editor/insertimage.png) above.
You will need
1. Pictures. These will need to be hosted online somewhere. In this guide, I've used photobucket because at time of writing it was the most common host. There are others you might wish to use - imgur and imageshack are my favourites - but the process for linking to them will be similar.
Method
1. Write your post
Ok, so the first thing you want to do is compose your message on the forum. Thats pretty straight forward. Here's my example message:
Blue cars are very gay
Photobucket users: If you've uploaded a pic to your own PB album, go to Step 3
Non-Photobucket users: If you're getting a pic off the internet, Go to Step 2
2a. Get URL of image
Before putting an image into your post, we need to know the address (URL) of the image.
Note: If you've uploaded an image to your own photobucket album, skip to step 6
a) To find the image URL in Firefox, rt-click the image and choose Copy Image Location
b) To find the image URL in Internet Explorer, rt-click the image and choose Properties, then highlight and copy the image Address (URL)
2b. Insert URL to post
Simply paste the URL into your thread in the spot you want the image to appear, like this:
Blue cars are very gay
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Cars/2008_07_26f.jpg
2c. Add tags
For the forum software to recognise your URL as an image, you need to add Image Tags. These are the and bits of text that tell the forum anything in between them is an image. Here's the example with the tags added:
Blue cars are very gay
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a266/razorjack/Cars/2008_07_26f.jpg
3. Photobucket users
Photobucket actually provides you with a link that has the tags already added. Once you have uploaded your pic, simply find the image in your album, roll the mouse over it and a few text boxes should appear - copy the text that begins with [IMG] and paste that into your message
4. Repeat & Preview!
Insert more images (if required) the same way. When you're happy, use the Preview Post button to check everything is ok:

Notes
http://profs.albachir.net/khbel/media/kunena/emoticons/arrow.png If you have less than 15 posts, the forum software might flag your post for moderation (i.e. moderators need to approve it prior to being visible on the forum). This is purely because spam bots normally stick an image in their spam posts, so nothing to worry about - a moderator will soon approve your post. Don't spam your way to 15, its quite possible to engage in the forum to get enough posts.
http://profs.albachir.net/khbel/media/kunena/emoticons/arrow.png Use the preview post button to checkout your post before hitting submit. You can also play around in the testing forum for practice.
http://profs.albachir.net/khbel/media/kunena/emoticons/arrow.png If taking an image from the wider internet, one you found on google images or suchlike, just be careful where your image links from - some sites don't allow remote hotlinking to images, so you'll need to download the image, then upload to your own host.
http://profs.albachir.net/khbel/media/kunena/emoticons/arrow.png Also watch out for images hosted on photobucket, as if you try to use Step 2 above to link an image from there, you may get a duff link which doesn't display in the forum properly.
http://profs.albachir.net/khbel/media/kunena/emoticons/arrow.png Facebook users - bear in mind that FB is NOT an image host, and regularly change their image URLs as they move them on their servers. So you may well find a Facebook linked image will disappear a few hours/days/months/years after posting in the forum. And there's nothing more frustrating for your 200-page long project thread to suddenly lose all its images... So for that reason, we strongly advise that you don't link to Facebook images.
