I'm getting there lol I have spax rsx coilovers for the front and adams old AVO damping adjustable fixed height to go on the rear, tyres I will probably end up running parada spec 2's due to a student budget and not much chance of a summer job way things are atm! But was recommended yoko's equivalent of the r888, A539 i think? forget the number lol

edit: number is a048r's, supposedly stiffer sidewall than the r888's

i was thinking about r888, they seem to be quite a good tire, although i have no personell experience.

200lb not a bit soft for the rear?

Kumho KU31's are a cracking all round compromise of grip/life/cost etc.

but everything is subjective.

GAZ suspension is fantastic VFM (especially with the club discount ;) ), but with everything, its all in the setup..... you could fit the most expensive infinately adjustable suspension in the world but set it up badly and it be worse than fitting ebay special £50 jamex stuff lol

i use to have 150lb but found it would sit low in the bends and with the 200lb it sorted that and feels very well balanced on track:thumb:

What have you been told to put on the rear?

In a nutshell the harder you go on the rear the over oversteer you will get. It's not a competition on who has the hardest rear springs. So a good approach is to start with something like 200lb springs and see how you get on.

If you go too hard straight away you may find that you enter the first corner backwards! Or it could be too twitchy to give you any confidence to push hard.

The A048's are a great tyre. I have heard that the R888 give almost as much grip. The R888 dosen't (apparently) last as long as the A048's. However you pay alot more for the A048 it was way over £100 per corner last time I checked.

i ran parada's on my cav for a daily runner and it loved the round abouts would squat its ass and not move
and ill be running them on the nova aswell to see how they go

but as stuart said the ku31 kuhmo's are ace had them on the skyline and they were a quality track allrounder was very hard to swing the back end out even when running over 400bhp

Supposedly skittles can give a discount on these, whereas normal traders are not allowed to, might be worth looking into :)

I was advised that spring rates differ quite significantly between road tyres and semi slicks like 888s/a048s. So getting an all round balance can be tricky without carry a couple of sets of springs to a trackday.

I'm going to be giving 425/350 a try on a048r's and 300/150 on rainsport 2s in the wet. Then tweak damper rates accordingly. Plan is to go to an open pit day at my local track (snetterton).

i was planning on running AVO coilovers , had them on my corsa and thought they were pretty good all round .

think i m going to run R888, jus need to get my brakes sorted out, i have V6 discs on the front at the mo, and have a rear disc beam to fit aswell

has anyone got bad reviews on them? i never fitted one to my corsa as i knew they were prone for lockin up on the rear with the weight bias sensor and car bein lowered but if you remove it you fail mot

I wouldnt bother with rear discs, just overhaul the standard drums. Im preety sure most people will agree with me.
