getting a new car while my nova is off the road. Its a pink 106gti. Has anyone had one and what are your opinions?
106 gti's are good we cars, i havent owned one (too young) But been in a few.
what are they like on petrol. Are they good at handling?

Dunno about fuel but with the right tires and lowered a bit they can hug a bend at speed.

sellin my gti for a quick sale wanting 900 no less reason for sale i have another car and this is just siiting doin nuhin its motd and taxed till august its only done 71000 miles its slammed at the bk lowerd 60 at front has a pug sport exhaust on it brand new couple month ago its got a cage in it aswell the body work isnt the best its got a dent in the back quarter where i kicked it and theres bits needing sprayed ive got paint left enough to do the touch ups its a good car engine is sweet as
I'd pass, Slammed ??? Boy racer, Where i kicked it ???? imo (in my opinion) its been thrashed.
Text speak :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: Really puts me off when some one uses text speak in an advert :mad::mad: If you are going to sell something at least make the effort to spell properly and make it look better.

Same as any car check the basics (rust spots, oil ect) I have been in a few of these and they do drive well, nippy and good handling (and I dont like French cars normally)
However advert really is awfull and makes you supisious of chav related activites in Mac D car parks, if its a complete chav (or a foreigner) just make sure you check everything and it isnt on its last legs.

Im not that keen on French cars either its just this one stands out from the crowd I would say. So probably not be a best buy then?
Just go and view it, See what its like and decide if you want it :thumb:

Yeah go have a look if its looks ok and you can haggle a bit for any bad points then take it.
Bare in mind though will it pass its next Mot in August

106 Gti's are awesome little cars, not put together too well (French cars arent) but one of the best handling off the shelf you can get.
£900 is cheap. There is probably a reason for that.
As long as the engine and box are good and it doesnt set on fire when you turn the wipers on, you cant go too wrong
I would go and have a look at it, Then you can make your own mind up.

dont be put off the text typing, more than likely most of the gti owners will be 'boyracers'. for that price itl definetly be worth a look at, but if its just be resprayed and needs a few touch ups already then check to see how good the job is

It was for sale before and it went for £2100 I think so obviously somethings not right. Will go and have a look anyway

Found that pink 106 on piston heads, Doesnt look too bad, Definetly go look at it then decide :thumb:

make sure you check the back axel, 106's and saxo's that have been lowerd over 40 mm on the the back 90% of the time will need a replacement sooner rather than later, and the fact that is being sold with nearly no mot meens that imo it will need one (rear axel can cost £300 +)

i've just read the ad and personally i'd avoid that thing like the plauge. kicked rear qtr and "slammed on the rear" makes me think this car has never been looked after while with its current owner, which can only spell trouble in the long run. besides, 106 GTI's are pants, get a Rallye

my gf has a rallye which im using at the mo its not as fast as the gti but handling looks and the little power it has makes it spot on
Ive owned, driven, raced & rallied sheetloads chap, very good capable FWD cars an can easily make 180bhp!
Very good on fuel & the handling as standard is execptional for that class of car.
EDIT: Rallye wise, a Series 1 is better, alloy blocked :thumb: massivly lighter front end weight ;)
