Headlight relay, cant remember excatly what it does now. But leave it lol

Its something to do with the headlamps so they are not on full without the ignition on, some 80 regulation in a far away country

Yes the old 'dim dip' system that was required for a few years in the UK, then faded out (no pun intended) About 1987 up to 1991/2 i think.

The heat sink fins on the side are probably for dropping the alternator output to 10 volts so that the dip filament glows a sort of tangerine colour when the engine is running and the sidelights are on. Make sure it's mounted somewhere where the heat can get away.

may aswell leave it alone- took it away in the dash somewhere, but as guderian says room for the heat to escape is needed.
