Calling all small blocks!!

I want to build a 1.6 small block on the cheap. I've got a good e16se as a base, was thinking of R1 carbs, keeping the dizzy ignition, and a four branch exhaust. What sort of power do we think it'll run? As a later mod, anybody have advice on the best cam?

1.6 on r1 carbs with 4 branch and cam sounds like a friggin champ, go for it m8e

If you're planning on building it, getting the carbs set up, changing the cam then getting the carbs set up again, thats not going to be so cheap.

if your building it 'on the cheap' you'll be lucky to get 110bhp imho

~I've managed to get a bogg brothers manifold and a set of carbs jetted at 1.65 for dirt cheap. was gonna buy a sportec four branch off flea bay for 150ish and send it to the rollers down the road at protec.

but if there's only 10 brake to be had???

Tbh I'd just slap in a std E16 & avoid all the hassle.

You're a good man, I'll defo take you up on that if I go bike carbs, always handy to have a pal who knows.

I had it in a nova just standard, and whilst admitedly very very good, it was a little tame to do, felt like I cheated or something.lol
