is this ok ? ive heard that once taken out, they leak when put back in, this true ? as im skint and my water pump is seized, but i have a working one on another block i can use. (providing 1.2 and 1.4 pumps are the same that is)
cheers :thumb:
They dont always leak when removed, normally its just the release from the pressure of the cam belt can weaken the seal. Put a new gasket on it, it should be ok provided it wasnt knackered when it was removed originally

not only that but do you know how old this other water pump is? how many times its been round, how long its been sat still ect ect you could be in the same boat 5 mins or 5 years ya never know unless you have owned it from day one!

£12.50 round here for a pump, normally just need a new O ring if the pump's fairly new.
Smer a line of thick grease around the mating surfaces, this will help sealing.

Thats not the seal to worry about, its the impeller shaft seal that goes on them.
SO long as it turns with a bit of resistance and it feels smooth, you should be fine
