hi all just wondering what the best induction is for a c20xe, the spec is wossner forged pistons at 87mm and pec h beam rods, billet flywheel, ported and polished head blue injectors, 3bar rail, chis astley manifold straqight through and kent cams/verniers (i know the bottom end is high spec but i intend on fitting 45s or throttle bodies within the next 12 months, just dont have the money at the moment because ive just threw 4k + at this lot) i just want something to tide me over untill i change the fueling, i can get a pipercross viper kit for 165, but have never had any experience with them, any suggestions? thanks
Standard air box with a panel is best.
If that is a genuine spec, induction really wont matter a great deal.
You really need carbs etc

For something thats gonna 100% do the job with no drawbacks, its standrad airbox and a panel filter such as K&N etc. This way theres no chance of drawing in hot air like conefilters do. Unfortunately it looks boring lol

its definetly the spec m8, ill post pics as the bits arrive, hoping tommorow or tuesday. thanks for your advice, i have never fitted the standard xe airbox in my nova, does it fit?
just do a K&N or similar with a decent cold air feed.

I'm running a BMC direct fed induction kit. All enclosed so does help with heat.
Going carbs next week ;)

ah men brother!!!:thumb:
panel filters all the way. these so called high performance filters draw in hot air as already said but also draw in LOADS OF MASSIVE BITS OFF DIRT! yes loads and they are massive. since your going to the trouble of porting and polishing your head you'll be doing your valve seats and these MASSIVE bits of muck and metal that get sucked up will undo your hard work. a standard panel filter wont do this and will in the long run give you a better performance. i know people run motors with no filters at all but loads of testing has been done on the matter by some lads in america on the oval and they know run a very simular filter to that which your mums car has

Sadly a std airbox from an XE doesnt fit in a Nova.
Im attempting to make a sri airbox fit with my Xe, hoping i can manage it :)
can mod a gsi/sri on to fit...

OMG nobody is ripping me for what ive said?
i cant beleive it. you lads actually know your stuff as opposed to the average boy racer who takes k&n's word for it with their daft plays on words lol.
if you buy a k&n brush filter ie cone or any foam filter you are gonna have a slower car in two months than you have know with a standard paper filter lol.
foam filters are good for going through water though but i think thats down to them being oiled but how many people actually oil them regularly??? im guessing very few. im yet to lift a bonnet and find a foam filter that isnt crumling away having been starves of the oil which actually does the filtering lol
make a box fit. ratch about the breakers yard for something that looks about right.
