Exhaust?

Hi guys,

right, im a bit worried about my saloon for the mot,

currently it doesnt have an exhaust, as i need a pipe to go between the 2, the main pipe off the car, into the backbox,

obviously being a saloon, mounting points are the same as a hatch... just had a stupidly long pipe coming out the bacbox,...

so..

ive been told there has to be a approved exhaust system?

well, the backbox is huge, not the pipe, i mean the box,

would it be ok to weld a pipe onto the bacbox as it doesnt have one, and then clamp it on the other end on the main pipe?

would tht pass an mot?

Generally as long as the system is secure, dosent leak and isnt a complete home job with scaffolding pole or overall a bit dodgy you should be ok

just do manifold back to the pass door so its a side exit lol

as long as it doesnt leak gasses and not stupidly loud you should be ok

Cool,

jus need to find someone who is handy with a welder now :( and fairly local,

and can weld brackets onto chassis legs, lol, i know alot of people are weary about welding onto the actual structure of a car..

it needs to be secure and not leak. it will fail if its obscenely loud however mine have always past. my brothers range rover exhaust consisted of scaffoling tube and was ok
