c20xe no spark. coil wiring help

put a xe in my nova all plugs connected from the loom. i changed the coil because i`m not getting a spark. the multiplug going into the amp under the coil has a black wire with red trace. if i connect a 12v live to this i can get a spark ( ht lead strait onto the coil). whats this wire and also have have a green wire coming from the same multuplug that is not conneted but has a 12 v feed. can anyone shed some light on this.

sounds as if you cud possibly have a break in the loom, and the wire wich goes to the coil aint getting power there, do you have fuel ? and is the car imobilised or have alarm?
