let see if you guys could help me

i put a redtop into my corsa and been having problems with the water system having to much pressure. i thought the head gasket may have gone so i changed that i changed the water pump too.

how long would it take to get all the air out of the system?

im using a 1.2 radiator at the moment would this cause the problem?

it hasnt got a miss fire and it runs great just seems to be to much pressure in the system what should the top and bottom hoses feel like?

when the cap is off and the car is running water starts buddling after 5 mins like a kettle

hope you guys can help

adam.

When you changed the head gasket did you get the head skimmed?

Have you another radiator at hand you can try?

Where does the temperature gauge sit once warmed up?

Is the header bottle cap letting pressure out? try drilling a small hole into it, obviously only when you know the head is okay and the pipes are all correct and the radiator is double checked.

once it starts to bubble like a kettle around 90

didnt have the head skiimed when fitting the new head gasket

the cap lets pressure ok i think how can i check this?

I suspect the head is still at fault. Did you us a genuine gm gasket or some after market job?

The cap usually lets pressure out and if your having that much pressure and its boiling then it ain't good i.e cooking the head.

you only need the head skimming only if you have totaly cooked the engine,

If he's saying its bubbling then I think he's cooking it. Always best to get the head skimmed for the sake of a couple of hours and £20 IMO.

Well it could be a cracked oil way then. Get the head off and send it for skimming and they will be able to see if the oil ways done for or not. Some places can fix them.

you could just have oil in your header tank off changing the head gasket. best to check in the pipes to see if oil is clogged to the sides of the pipe.

is your fan running all the time?

i would do the simple things before you start stripping the head and sending it off
