im thinking of buying a astra sport as a donor car and swapping everything over to my nova!
i want a gte engine ideally but there 2 rare and dear so im settling for a 1.6 astra engine lol
now i dont no exactly what i need 2 swap so would i be right in thinking fuel tank and fuel lines, brakes, suspension, radiator, ecu, and the exhaust
is there anything else id need?
and do i need 2 strenthen the engine bay?

any help / comments appreciated in advance

you dont need to strengthen the bay but seeing as you will have the engine out for the sake of a couple of hours you may aswell, the suspension you can get full kits ie g-max/spax for about 150 check ebay, i think your standard rad would be fine depending on its condition and if your nova is a carb model i think youll need to change the tank and/or add a fuel pump not 100% sure tho

you can keep your old tank and fuel lines. i think you will need a mpi pump or just a spi pump.unlees the one out of the astra will fit.
suspension you can keep from nova but you will need the brakes off the astra.
exhaust will not fit off the astra but the manifold will
i dont no about the engine mounts i think you will have to use your nova ones ?

oh and this sould be in Mechanical

spi pump wont work, astra fuel pump will be internal.

What is yours atm? spi or carb?

if you car is spi and the pump is in the top of the tank then the astra 1 will fit in the tank

cheers so far guys ... my car is a carb model 1.2 so will need a pump!
iv got some lowering springs on already but i gotta change the shockers to uprated ones haven't i?
and when i said exhaust i just meant manifold and downpipe like!
my rad is fine also so in all fairness it wont be a hard conversion then?

Easy conversion, but the ECU has a built in immobiliser, so you will need the keys and transponder from around the barrel....

and spi pump will work but you have to put it to a switch

It will physically work, but it wont pump enough fuel and wont run properly.

yer that's no trouble seeing as I'm going to be getting a whole car to do it :)

how much power / speed you think i will achieve and yes i no it will be alot more than my 1.2 ;) lol
