got in last night from my garage and thought i would have a go on the xbox,so put it on and started playing it then it freezed,then all of a sudden the three red lights came on,i know its ****** now,i thought they sorted the problem out when the 360 elite came out,guess not,the thing is i think ive had it when the elite came out is there a guarantee on these,ive still got the box it came aswell

if you still have the receipt mircrosoft will fix it, see there website for details of this.

This is only a temporary solution, i would NOT do this if you want to send it to be fixed.

depends whats wrong with it, if the disc has a nice circular scratch on it then i dunno if microsoft will fix it, there was a peice on this on Tv a few weeks ago, older ones have a serious problem on them and they just blame it on the user saying that they move it whilst its in use........ if its not a scratch and its just a hardware/software problem send it off, if they blame you...... get a PS3 owned one for 2 years, aint got a single problem with it!!

just ring microsoft up and they will arrange collection. it takes 5 - 7 working days to send it to germany / fix it / and return it. i collect and deliver dozons of these things every day. most people buy them second hand - have no receipt - and still get them fixed foc ! i even know of one guy who buys bust machines for peanuts - gets them fixed and sells them on again. dont send it back in the original box as you get it returned in a plain white box.

i have done the duvet thing,on my last one done nothing just smelt of burning plastic lol,i think the reciept is somewhere i got it from game so might pop in there see if they know what else to do,ive got a ps3 dont like them,i only got it for the blue ray player but thats about as much use as it gets

Just send it off, it's not worth doing all the DIY fixes, they only work temporarily.

Just send it away. Should still be in warranty so, get it sorted.

nah, other companies didnt start recalling there brand new cd players because they went with hddvd i mean cds... not minidisc equivilent :)

My XBox console was bought brand new in November, never had no problems with it not even after 18 hour sessions.

EDIT: I have heard the first off the line consoles are prone for dying though.

X-Box FTL!! ya get more complaints about x-boxes then ya do about ps3's! actually, apart from the odd game glitch, i dont think i have heard of a big problem with them at all!!
