what difference will a compresion ratio make ??

i have a 12nv and getting 16sv and have checked diff compresion ratios what do they mean??

compression ratio = the value representing ratio of combustion in the chamber. for ease of explanation its calculated from wen pistons are at top and bottom of stroke in the chamber, so if you have a piston wen at bottom of it stroke in chamber with say 1000cc of air and wen it reaches the top of its stroke and reduces the air to 100cc you get these figures 1000:100
then if reduced down for ease you end up with a compresion ratio of 10:1

for example normaly aspirated engines run at high compression and turbod engines run at low compression.

personally I'd stick with the 12nv over the 16sv. the 16sv is a dire dog turd of an engine.
