first quarter mile times

i had my first go on a quarter mile the other day had a good day but was disapointed by my time. (wheel spin 1st and 2nd didnt help) i was just wondering what other people got there first time and also what time i should be looking at in a full trim red top nova
i ran a 15.94 at 89mph
but i am hooked now and may sell my nova and get a stripped out one:D

why not just strip your nova though?

as its a gsi i think im better sellin it and buying a base model as less stuff to rip out and also want a non sunroof model so can have a cage

I've ran 14.2 in my shed in my signature with just back seats removed. I have had loads of practice though, first runs in the car were very low 15's.

Same with me, full trim and on carbs ran a 15 dead at Santa Pod. Where did you run yours? I was dissapointed tbh, and this year it's fully stripped out and quaife diff'd up!
Also, what size wheels are you running? I reckon my 16's killed it a bit too, so have gone down to 15's this year too. My car is never going to set the fastest times, but it is addictive and if your like me you'll constantly want to better your times.

my run was at north weald air feild not very good surface concreate im running 16 s and a bog standard xe but now im thinking of getting a track/quater mile /road car somthing like ernies

Keep the GSI aswell. Build up another car to a nice spec.

Somthing i want to do aswell, but il be using my corsa shell.

What were your 60ft times, that makes a massive difference to your times?

I was doing 2.7 and getting a 15 second run, got it down to 2.2 and that was low 14 second runs.

My car is nothing special either, standard high mile xe and f20 and toyo t1r road Tyres.
