Alpine or Vibe, quality brands? Oh dear lol

Alpine are the best of the two, but by no means the best full stop. I was always a fan of Cerwin Vega, Phoenix Gold, JL, etc.

im a big fan of vibe as all their goods are really quality stuff. do you recon it would be better to build a system of one make or would it make a difference to swap and change.

LOL. Alpine are an established Japanese Giant at audio. There high end CD players have long been a 'point of reference' (por) competition choice in terms of sound quality, yet VIBE are simply a marketing company buying in products from Taiwan & ordering it with their logo on. Nothing but a laod of re-branded Goodmans stuff tbh, sure it's quite good in some cases but hardly 'best', far from it.

BECKER head units ftw.

alpine for me just the head unit and normal(ish) speakers- new sound coming soon in the form of twin 40s lol

pioneer are tops out of the main brands out tehre but i know vibe are also excellent and will do you a very good deal for show cars if they think you'll be getting features.

swap and change all you want if what your after is good sound at a cheap cost. most people go for a single brand either so that it looks nice or because they have got a nice price on all there bits in the one deal

i do like alpine and i will shortly be getting an alpine headunit as mine is buggered. i also rate pioneer for headunits but as for speakers i dont think it makes much difference on the make as long as they dont cost 20p from netto. and that they are quality goods

Reference is Infinity's cheapo line! Kappa are the "better" badge from Infinity. Their stuff is good, yes, but its still budget range. Couldn't compete with the likes of PG etcin terms of quality

Very true, my ref-5.0's didn't last too long connected to a measly 75W/channel amp (bass testing cd's might have had some involvement!), but they were good before they started farting.

Alpine reputedly make the best heads, but I've allways gone for kenwood.

Personally I have always had Alpine headunits, Pheonix Gold Amps and Jl speakers, always a good p.o.r. but a few years ago I was told Gemini were the amps to have and iirc it was cdt speaker were doing really well

Focal FTW ^

Got some Utopia components here I'm about to put up for sale, buy these and a decent amp (selling one too lol) and you will hear good audio mate.

As for Alpine, they do the job for me with their HU's. Running a cd9857r ATM and can't really fault it - although I have no install in the 360, just a set of mid bass GZ's.

the last car I had a stereo in, I had a top of the range Alpine headunit, Rockford Punch amp kenwood dual mags for the components(due to space restriction) and a JL audio sub. It was good quality but it would have been better with Boston Acoustics components, they used to be the dogs.
I now have a factory fit tape player and 4 disc changer in th 888 and a hole in the Nova which will have a coin tray fitted.
