Siemens/Bosch ECU chipping

Alright folks.

Ok, i have an h reg nova gte with a siemens ecu, and i was wondering if its possible to change it for a bosch ecu, that way my mate can chip it for me.
So, firstly, if its possible, what exactly is involved?? i mean assume but a stroke of luck i found a bosch ecu sitting in my hand, it wont just be a straight swap will it? or can it only be done if i change a heap of other things too?

im pretty sure u can but you would also need to swop the loom, which isnt muhc of a job really
