View Full Version : Fan belt - twin 40's
I got a lowered alternator bracket for my twin 40's on Friday there, got it fitted and went to fit the fan belt, and it is catching on the bracket. Do I need to use a longer belt to keep the alternator further back, or is my bracket wrong?
Mine used to that, i just ignored it as the bracket was smooth anyway, so it wasnt going to destroy the belt or anything.
You could try a longer belt...
The bracket is actually pushing it out of line though - surely you couldn't leave it like that?

i had this problem when fitting my bracket too, i had to fiddle with the rubbers and it was rite then the belt rubbed so got a shorter belt and that solved it, looks nice n shiny now though ;)

what belt did u get that was shorter m8 ive bought a 12 belt its tov short and the 16 is too big?
Don't think I can get a shorter belt, there is very little room between the alternator and engine as it is with the standard belt.
It's either a longer belt or shave a bit off the bracket I think.......
