been many many times and spent a long time out there,

Lovely place with some of the friendliest people on earth, it really is a place you can do as much or as little of anything you like,

I could spend an hour telling you how amazing the beaches are but if your going to screw the ass of some ho then just say and i will change the advice!

Dont worry about ladyboys its nigh on impossible to make the mistake!

Thanks for the info Ben ! well to be honest i dont really fancy the idea of screwing some ho that 100's of other people have so count me out of that lol meeting my friend there and just going to go travelling around the county, no particular plan at all really will be just nice to go with the flow, a couple of people that i've spoken to have said that Bangkok is horrible but there are tons of really beautiful places to visit, going to stay the first 2 nights in Bangkok and then head off, where would you reccomend mate ?

to be honest i love bankok, spend loads of time there, my first time i went to bangkook i hated it too but it is great and lots to see,

Make sure you get a lonely planet or other decent guide book but dont take them to literally as its only peoples opinions, you really cant explain how easy it is to get around out there,

I really like Koh Chang in the east its an island and when i first started going there was very untouched but its getting commercalised now, phi phi is lovely but since the big wave its got very expensive and the thais are ripping people right off down there, still worth a look though,

The north is nice to go trekking and get away from it all and is very relaxed and very cheap,

TBH ive not seen any bits i wouldnt want to go back to, if your not into the ho's etc stay away from pattaya but is worth a laugh.

Just dont go around flashing cash or with expensive jewllery, try not to make it obvious your a tourist, might sound odd but you can spot them a mile away,

In all fairness i think its safer walking around bangkok than bristol or other cities in the uk, but i dont reallty get intimdated anywhere.

Dont be scared to try things, the food of the carts on the streets is better than the restaraunts as all the locals eat there!

Just get stuck in and enjoy, if you have any praticular questions feel free to ask, ive been around a bit lol

Right then i have got a bit more time today so will write you a decent reply breaking down the areas...

Basically as i said before in Thailand you can do anything you like and as much or as little as you like, its a perfect place as there is something for everyone.

You can go to a remote island live in a gut made of palm trees and have electricity for about 3 hrs a day, or you can go into bangkok or pattaya and party 24/7 non stop.

The islands in the east such as koh chang and koh samet (koh is thai for island) are some of the most relaxed and the cheaper ones and you can happily eat and sleep somewhere for less than £10 a day on these islands as they are less popular than the bigger more commercialised places in the south.

The islands in the south are the more famous ones like Koh Samui, Koh Phi Phi, Phuket, koh Panang (famous for full moon parties) these places are more expensive as they have airports that you can fly directly too from europe etc so get the holiday makers going there and they get ripped off by thai standards.

Other nice little places in the south are Koh Lanta, Ao Nang, Railee very picturesque as lots of limestone formations etc, round here is where the film the beach and james bond were filmed.

With travelling over there most internal flights cost about £30 but on top of that take into account taxi rides to the airport which are about £10 so looking at about £50 for an internal flight all in.

With the overnight buses and the trains they are a great way to travel as it also saves you a nights hotel bills, try to avoid the mini buses if you can as 12 people in a 9 seater mini bus for 8hrs aint fun but it is cheap! Also if they say its a 4hr trip its probably 6-7hrs! the buses and cars go everywhere at top speed and get scary!

You have to have a tuk tuk race around bangkok its excellent fun, pay the driver 10baht extra to try and beat your friend in another tuk tuk and tey really go for it.

If you stay in Bangkok for a few days, go see the grand palace and the emerald buddha, go to the kho san road and see all the krusty travellers with there fake dreads there funny as fook!

Dont fall for the sorry sir the palace is closed today but i will give you a guided tour of somehwere else scams, and go careful the taxi driver or tuk tuk drivers dont take you to there cousins suit shop for a fitting, they wont make you buy anything they just get a kick back for taking you there.

In Thailand you have to haggle for everything, and i mean everything, if they come in very high half or quarter the price for your first offer and see what they come back with i have bought things that start of at 2000baht for 150! they try there luck so do it back.

Its a wicked place just be ready to go anywhere and do anything, you can go with the best laid plans of your route etc and it can change daily, if there are storms in the south the chances are the north will be lovely, so just keep your eyes open for weather forecasts.
