Got the n/s one off, mole gripped the lock nut on the steering arm, wound it in, then span the track rod end off. Went to do the o/s the same way, and its not budging! was trying for about 2 hours. So how can i get the track rod end off?
Try using heat/shock it off, and also the mechanical section.
Naughty. :(

its been doused in wd40. so ill try heating up then. What about just replacing the whole steering arm? does it just unscrew from the rack?

The locking nut. im turning it clockwise to wind it towards the steering rack, so that it loosens off the track rod end. thats what i done to the other side. and no, i dont have a vice

not sure i thought one side was a left hand thread and the other a right hand thread try turning it the other way maybe

anybody else know if this is true? if its an opposite thread on one side? it did look like a normal thread to me tbh though

im pretty sure it is so that they can only go on the right way so you dont put a right on the left. what you on here for you should be out sorting it lol

i was out on the car for hours yesterday doing loads!! my bumper iron had snapped and i didnt realise. front end was lopsided, bolts wouldnt go in to hold it on so had to 'modifiy' it. sits good now :) i deserve a rest lol back hurts :( old age for you. fighting with a nut for 2 hours. id laugh if it turned out to be an opposite thread. ill give it a go though spinning the opposite way.

:wtf: i can manage a track rod end. just not if its an opposite thread  lol
They're not opposite threads. Track rod ends are not sided unfortunately.
Heat is the only way now if you cant shock it off.
Save funknig about id just change the entire steering arm.
