Id say an ideal way if your hands on would be to carefully paint strip the face of the wheel, then sand rough to smooth grades, lastly use a drill attachment kit from ebay to polish up. You may need a dremel as well if you have an intricate set of wheels.

Like this or similar.... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4-x-1-2-General-Purpose-Metal-Polishing-Kit-GPK0-4001_W0QQitemZ280324999755QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Mo torcycle_Parts?hash=item280324999755&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318%7C301%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

Hope this helps.

Nick.

You called?
The link Nicks posted is perfect. Team that with 180, 320, 600, 800, 1000 grit can paper, 1000 being wet. But doing it on a grinder would be better as they give more rpm, the faster the better.

Get ready for sore hands a your fingers locking in place... Which is an odd feeling.

If your still wanting to do this, do it like this.

Strip all the paint off the rim so its bare metal.

sandpaper
180 the whole wheel then.
320
400
600
800
1000
1200
1500
2000

Then get some autosol and polish it like mad.

This is a bike i partly painted and polished for someone.
