Right im having a argument on another club and they were saying any rwd car can out handle a fwd car. And ive said that a fwd car can out handle them if they are set up for track. Not all but some! Has anyone got vids to post like youtube ect of a fwd car out handling a rwd in the corners and over taking. Dar, Olly, Oil, Lee ect?

Not a great example but ask them if a RWD can recover from this

if it's handling wise, rwd usually pisses on front, but the added weight of the prop and rear diff lets them down in the overall race.

that was a damn fine save by plato there, he musta snapped on full lock and wellied the brakes just intime to rescue it, great recovery.

Awsome il use that. And they are saying a m3 would out handle a vectra or mondeo. And im on about the btcc. Im sure they were both all over the m3 back in the 90's.

Brakes? No son, Full lock and full power to get the front end round, Brakes would cause it to spin.

Bigs, There is a vid on the tube with John Cleland and some other vaux driver (i forget his name) In cavilers and they are both like flys round **** on a BMW.

i guess ive never had a car with a decent enough suspension and tyre setup for power to do that, whenever ive been in a slide like that myself, braking is the only thing that will level it out

in std road going form, an M3 will whip a lot of cars......

in the nineties, the m3 couldn't compete in the btcc against the 2 litre repmobiles, it was the 318 they used then rebored it to 2 litres.

anyway, handling is how a car feels to the driver..
grip, cornering speeds,& other characteristics can make a car faster or slower.....

with a light FWD car you just point and go with no worrys. i have had a few 200sx in the twists in my saloon

Braking will never sort a slide like that out, theres no rotational resistance on the tyres going sideways so it will just lock and carry on sliding, keeping the throttle on tries to pull the front end round, and puts weight onto the rear of the car, so the ass end sticks and the front end pulls round.

Keeping it on topic, doing the same in a RWD hits the hedge faster lol your only chance there is to get throttle just right so there's no resistant or forwards force on the rear tyres, so they don't spin or lock and they somehow stick enough for the front to roll round, basically it's brown trouser time though.

FWD favours the larger testicle'd man in this case, if you can keep your foot in it you're normally alright, whereas RWD you have to be a pansy and lift off lol
