how do you fix a c20xe that taps when cold but if fine when warm? i want to stop it tapping when cold

Replace hydraulic lifters, prob caused by lazy oil pump, i'd replace that too, along with some good, fresh oil.

they dont cause any damage they just get worn as to why explaind above, although they are annoying wen tapping away many xes and lets do it as use same lifters, you can pick a new set up from 50 pounds and not a massive job fitting them but you need to remove both the cams to renew them. have you got plenty oil in? maybe worth dropping the oil out if its been in a while and put sum good fresh oil in and new filter.
