Looks like i'm gonna have to say goodbye o my nova after only 3 weeks, left it off the drive for a day and when i got back it was clamped :mad: Can't afford the release fee so they're gonna have to take it. i've taken the engine though lol

Drag it up onto your drive and block it in with another car and tell em to fudge off!

just strip it on the road side take the wheels off and leave it for them the look on thier faces will be priceless lol, theres been loads of clamped cars round here the dvla must be going through a faze

Chisel and break the mechanism? There case hardened so will crack well!

Or 4 bolts and undo the hub?

4 bolts lol

jack it up, undo the drop arm bolts, then undo the suspension bolts, pull, the drive shaft will pop out, throw all that away,

new shaft new hub, done lol


ooo got a crawl board? put the clamed wheel on that and push it back on the drive lol

Thats how i got the engine out lol i don't wanna do that though, i couldn't afford the fine i'd get if i did it, i'll just have to buy a new one :(

Well the car was up in whitworth rochdale on a mates drive, the clamps easy to get off its just the grand fine that comes with the clamp that i don't wuite like lol

You only get a fine if you remove the clamp or damage it, it will still be attached to the wheel so you have not removed it:thumb:

can't see why not, your not allowed to touch the clamp, so take the hub/ wheel off and leave the clamp undamaged, fit a few scrapyard parts and keep your car :thumb:

lol thats a brilliant idea, i'm gonna have to do that tomorrow before they come for it, i'll have to push it onto the drive though lol

what size tyres are on the wheels? if they have a tall sidewall, let all the air out and you might just be able to squeeze a brace in between the clamp and wheel. remove wheel bolts, put the spare on, drive away!

done that in london with my astra van haha, then waited for the clampers, i put a post it note on the clamp with a smiley face, the big fat meathead nearly threw the clamp through the side of his van, was most pleasing.

i took pictures to show i didnt damage the clamp, not heard nowt lol :)

dont know if the dvla rules are the same for tax but definatly if its for parking if you can remove the clamp without damage you are perfectly with in your rights and nothing further can be done

I think the dash and front bumper might be worth taking, they're both fine, my mate decided he'd kick the f**k out of the doors though, i told him not to aswel, i was gonna just leave the shell and take everything worth saving

Thats where it was clamped, even though it isn't a public highway apparently they can still clamp it.

Its gone now, i just took everything worth taking out of it and left it on bricks bar the clamped wheel, i didn't want to risk the £1000 fine for taking the clamp off :mad:

Did this with my mates car, he had just bought it went to get it and had been clamped lol

We let the tyre down, got a breaker bar behind it witha socket, undone the bottom balljoint and away you go lol
