Whats your details, ncb, age, postcode, usage etc

[edit] Of course a 1.6 conversion may not be the same price as a std 1.6.

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD my quotes (as i am doing a 1.6 16 valve conversion) the cheapest was £2,373.12, Dearest was £9,999.00, And they are the only two quotes i got :cry::cry::cry:

As a 1.2 i paid £766 last year for 12 months (My first year) :(

Why do people still use them for modified cars!

Was just doing it to see what kind of quotes i would be looking at, When the engine is complete i will look around for some cheap modified insurers, Any recommendations?

For a converted 1.6 8v with those details, I'd expect to pay ITRO £1,800 with an alarm/immobiliser requirement.

Look at Sky (can't remember if they cover Oldham, ask Ollie), HIC/Flux, Admiral/Elephant, Direct Line, Brentacre and Greenlight.

They don't cover us.
The quotes i got back was like 3000!
I was expecting it to be max about 1500

Poo. Tried the other companies I suggested? Call them direct, even if you've had results come back via comparison sites already just get new quotes. Haggle :D

I was always under the impression that a lower spec Nova with an engine dropped in would cost more to insure than the original donor car due to its 'modified' status? E.g. LET Nova harder to insure than a Cav Turbo?

I paid £1200 on a 2ltr at 19 with year years driving/2 years no claims with flux all mods declared.

That was monthly payments too, flux are good for me, always given the best quotes by far.

Not always the case, some companies still base the insurance on the donor car's grouping
