Im in the process of putting a redtop in my nova, I am 18 at the mo but will be 19 in October, the car will be insured after that. I know its going to cost a bomb but i'm prepared to pay. I want the car to be legit and be 2 litre on logbook etc etc. Just after some feedback on what insurance companies your with and how much you pay (roughly same age)? Also how you go about getting the car down on the books as a 2 litre. Anyway I know its gona cost but jus wanna see wat i'm getting myself in for, I'll be 19 and have 3 points. Thanks

You'll proabably get shafted because of your age and points etc. Most people on here have their's on classic policies but I believe you have to be 21!?
when I was 22, no point, fully comp, with track cover and 3rd party cover on other vehicles.
Xe with cage seats coilovers lsd etc etc was £700. But I guess you'll prob be looking at anything for £2k+

Post code is a killer too.

Try HIC and Sky

Your looking at 1000-1400 minimum imo

You fill out a form from the post office, and pay a fee and send off. Look on the DVLA website you can find the form on there

Just complete the V5 with the new info and send off. They may or may not write back asking for confirmation though.

regarding parents on your insurance.... just start on your own and get your no claims built up. benefits will speak for themselves in a couple of years. anyway insuring your parent on your car then you a named driver is against the law "fronting"

He means having parents on as second drivers, which in some cases can save you money.
