bloooooooody hell thats a big one alright atleast they survived with only cuts and brusies it could have been worse
and people still bolt in/bird**** weld cages in
That is a truely awesome piece of footage. The 2 poeple in the car were uninjured which is always great to hear but that one Sunbeam not going to be back Rallying again.
Haha exactly, i saw it on the news earlier and you can see a nice X design in the cage behind the guy and the passenger shell retains its shape perfectly and was thinking he has had a proper cage in there then.
You get the amount of safety you build in, this guy knew he would be going fast so therefore built/welded a proper cage in................... properly.

yea i saw that onsky sports news was a bad one to say the last and he walked away!!
Apprently he sub-marined in the seat because he only had a four point harness! Thank funk ive got 6pointers. But like people are saying its one bloody well built car.

yea clearly he had built a strong car!
Id love to know the helmet come off! It was either to big or he hadnt fastend it properly :tard:

I thought that, strange for someone to build a kickass cage for safety then not do their helmet up though. other option is the strap snapped, but that's just even worse on the manufacturers part!

more than likely was the strap id say!!
i wonder if he will be using window nets or wrist strap next time. was lucky not to loose an arm
There was a well known Rally Driver about 3 miles from me in his AE86 that went off in a big way, his cage snapped in the middle and the car came to a stop on its roof about 50 yards into a bog. the Marshals didnt want to move him even though he lay unconsious (sp) hanging upside down in a car with a failed cage with God only knows what damage done. He was eventually removed and now, he's paralised from the neck down. A tough story learnt the hard way for definate.
Dont cut corners when it comes to dangerous activities kids.
bloody hell Dod, crazy sh!t. But then again everyone, Me included choose to do rallying so we all know the dangers, Plus one day were all going to have an off on the stage.. Its just when!
Hmmm, I've seen worse, but still a good'un!!!
Yet those of us that wave the welders around in the first place rarely get a thankyou after crashes like that

has made me think about my safety in the nova. not only me in the car, but my dad aswell.
before i got into rallying, we always said we were going to have a monster cage in it to protect us. i started building my nova and the first thing i bought was a full multipoint weld in cage (also asked for extra's)
progress got slower and slower, until i thought bugger it, i will buy a complete car. i bought a nova with a 6 point SD cage, but i am not happy with it. i dont want to do much with it. think i may do a few rallies then swap everything over into my better shell with the monster cage.
it would be awful to see me/ dad or or even worse both of us injured..
