Car jerks,only just ticks over without cutting out.

i drive a 1.2i and recently ran it on red on my petrol gage. Its now started to jump when im driving it and only just manages to tick over when stood still. Is it dirty fuel in my engine? if not what? and how do i get rid of it?

yep - prob drudged all the bits from the bottom of the tank and its blocking the flow of fuel. Try an addative to clean the jets.

You could also install a small fuel filter on the fuel hose - cost about ?1 and catch a ton of crap!

the SPi engine already has a fuel filter down by the tank

try replacing that - it might be blocked and starving the engine of fuel
