sr/gte steelie dimensions and brake fitment

are these both 13" x 5.5" ?
someone said there was a version that was 13" x 6" ?
what sized tyres suit them best ?
and will they go over 2 litre brakes, or will grindies be needed, if so, how thick in mm's need's be shaved off ?

Early SRs had 13"x5.5
IIRC all GTE/GSI and later SRs and SRis had 14" steels or alloys ,(14" x 5.5)

Im pretty sure they wont go over 2l brakes. only the 14" steels do. I dont think they'l even fit with grinding the caliper edges, that trick is for 14" nova standard alloys
Dont think there are any 6" wide 13s, IIRC its the 5.5s that are quite rare.

13s wouldnt fit over 2.0 brakes at all, i dont think the discs would fit under them, let alone the caliper lol

14s fit but only the 5.5J's and i think they fit without any cutting.

Aye, I had 256 ATE brakes under my 14" SRi steels and that was a damned tight fit, so I really can't see them fitting under 13" wheels.

im gonna have to get some standard 14" steels in that case, i like the circle hole style from mk.3 astra's and alike, they 5.5 wide ?

My SRi came with 5J steelies and they fit over my 256mm brakes, though they have been shaved a little for the speedlines.

236mm vented will fit under 13" steels.

they are vectra rims.

i've got a set of 6j14 std vectra et49 rims with 185/60r14's in my shed. the tyres aren't very good, but the rims sit over 256mm ate brakes fine.

i'll get a piccy up in a bit
