Anyone who has been to teh Vauxhall Heritage Centre or read TV already will have seen their Astra GTE 16v :thumb:

Dougie managed to get loan of it for a feature in the current issue, where we went to Knockhill Circuit. On the way back South, we took a trip to the Kielder Forest. Anyone who has been there before will know what an amazing place it is. Dougie thoroughly enjoyed kicking it's ass (what it was built for, after all) and . As per usual in Scotland, there were barely any other cars on the road :D Here are a few photos...

He does have the perfect job, for the car-lover anyway. Suprisingly, several of the blokes on the car magazines just don't seem to have any interest in the cars (not mentioning any names, ahem).

It's worth going for The reverse head swindon built, (ex j.c iirc) XE Imo! Pure engine p0rn!

Lynsey
05-05-09, 09:48 PM
Yeah, that WOULD be smart :thumb: Maybe something to think about IF I had a redtop.

If the SEH decides to behave itself in the Nova, it's bloody well staying in there! Maybe time for a new project, eh?

having seen what swindon engines go for last time they were discussed on here i'd be considering a 2nd hand porsche, something jap with silly power, or a massive bank balance first lol

Well it has MOT now, 95% finished. I'll have some fun with the Nova but really would like something older :thumb:

The GTE was brilliant to drive - it might have been standard, but the set-up was 100% spot-on. There were no rattles or wind noise and it was great on the motorway. It really held on in corners too, which surprised me as the tyres weren't the best. The soft-ish suspension actually helped on bumpy roads. The engine is still tight-as, I had to run it on super unleaded all the time. I did 2000 miles in it in a week hehehe.

I must say, Lynz's pictures came out really well :D

I avoided putting up the T&A photos which we almost got caught taking, and also any of you, for fear of being photoshopped and used as EVERYONE's avatar lol

I thought you meant offroading the Heritage car!

GTE 16V is the best hatch Vaux/GM have ever released. Drop the suspension & switch to 15" wheels & they are stunning.
