4 speed to 5 speed gearbox

Havent seen the answer to this so wanted to ask you guys. When i upgrade to a 5 speed gearbox from a 4 speed will i need to change the gear lever as on the 4 speed theres no more room to select upto another gear or will this just need adjusting in it housing?

You have to cut the lug on the right hand side of the gear leaver
