i voted 1.6.
Have had both and will go back to 1.6 16v again before a 2.0 16v. They're to heavy!!

1.6 has no torque

i dont see what all the hype is about with weight, ikts a bit overrated-people said id need huge arms to be able to park the 2litre etc, but i hardly notice ne difference. only when driving it on wet roads it tries to 'go forward' all the time when cornering, but it is controllable, just have to drive it a bit more carefully!
with the 2 litre you're starting with higher bhp figure.

as ian said no torque! why waste the time of the 1600 when you get far more bhp with the 2ltr as std for me if i had a 1600 8v then went to a 1600 16v id b v dissapointed!

matter of opinion i guess - look at ians, and Cps car for instance, two very different routes, but unbelievable results from both parties

yes but remember bhp means nowt! at the end of the day torque wins the race plus think you could have a 1.4 n spend loads on it to get 150bhp or you could just get a valver with 150bhp std, pounds per horse power the 2ltr 16v is alot more friendly!, thats why let's r even cheaper to tune you get alot more bhp/torque for your money compared with a n/a engine!

OK, i am a sad barstard. a very very sad one. But the poll on the top of this topic gives me a choice between a tuned 20 litre 16v, or a 1.6 lol  rather big difference :P But however, i would def go for the 2.0. no point in going to a 16v from a 8 valve. not worth the effort?

thats what im on about. Its prob very different over there but in Ireland The majority of our roads are shite! the 2 l gets a little annoyin after a while.
I'd definately build one again when i can afford to have it as a spare car.

Pointless me voting.

I say 1600 all day, My 1600 has a very high potential BHP and the tourqe figures aremt that bad either. Tourqe steer on Novas is bad enough on the 8v's i dont know why anyone would want to increase that so much to make it virtually undriveable.

The C20 XE has a good standard BHP but it has been virtually opened right up as standard whereas the 1600 has been downrated a lot more therefore being able to release a lot more for less money than tuning the 2.0l

Boy am i going to get slatted for this
