hi just wonderin for peoples advice, my mate has a J reg 1.4 sr as a rally car and after an event we noticed the front was sitting way to low, it has spax shocks and 30/40mm lowering springs on it, just wondering would we be ok just putting the original springs back on or would u recommend something else? any advice welcome, thanks

for forest rallying, you need the tallest springs that you can fit under the arches. original springs will be fairly tall, but maybe a little soft....

tallest springs will be better. also you will be better getting some proper forest rally shocks for it as the spax ones are designed for tarmac and will not have the correct bump/rebound rates or will be anywhere near as strong.

most stage cars i know have coilovers on so they are height adjustable.

Deffo not SPAX or lowered items.

Yellow bilsteins with some Hockley forest springs perhaps?

I used to use Bilstien coilovers and 12in free length springs rated at 250-275 on the front and 150-180 on the rears, that was in a Mk2 Escort though, I have loads of springs left over if your interested.

just to note that on a nova you will need stiffer springs on the rear as it is front wheel drive. :thumb:
