I shall look it up at work and see if it needs any recalls doing for you olly, chances are it will want the bonnet catch recall doing as 99% of them seem to still need it lol

I heard about the bonnet catches years ago. Renault finally admitted the problem then?

Yes there have been ongoing recalls for them since they first came out (Clio II's that is) its more a case of they gunge up and dont work properly which renault say is lack of maintainance but ive never lubed up a bonnet safety catch on any of my cars, its more cos theyre tiny little things.

But all that gets done is they have a look at it and if it looks gungy/corroded then they simply fit a new one, new nuts and send it on its merry way lol

How very strange, yes... you can't open the bonnet on your own, someone else needs to be at the bonnet just wiggling it about

That'd be fantastic please Spud :D :thumb:

Hmmm, that says to me its had a front end nudge as the full front panel assembly on those is plastic so a small nudge will crack it/knock it out of line as we had one in the other day and even with the new catch on it still had to be opened by two people:eek:

Sorry for late response bud i looked it up other day, yours is due a bonnet catch check so ring up your local renault stealers and get it booked in, its completely free and they will just replace the catch FOC.

Its also had all of its previous recalls done with no problems and chances are it was cheap cos its an import at my guess:thumb:
