Not checked back on this in a long time, looking good but not too keen on the alloys myself, perhaps get the mirrors colour coded too ? Whats the spec of the engine in there then ? Any internal mods at all ?
Really nice looking car, grey plastics make it look ten times better than when it was first painted, wheels look good too imo all in all a good little sr rep you've got there
stylesy451
03-01-09, 07:30 PM
um well actually lol im not really liking the grey so before pv09 i will be making them black lol unless a load of people say dont do it lol im not sure weather to keep the sr spoiler or to go with a gsi one? i was thinking of making the wheels gloss black with the bumpers too. with red pinstripe round the bumpers and red center badges on the black wheels. the engine is standard 1.4sr and randomly the throttle stuck open yesterday and snapped a cam follower so i popped one in from my 1.2 engine but it runs ok now apart from it not liking the cold weather lol thanks for the comments.

03-01-09, 07:42 PM
not too keen on the wheels tbh mate there too new for that mk1. also think them bumpers would look better colour coded shiney black again along with the mirrors as i think there faded lookin. other than that very nice car u got there pal, good work.

yh defo colour code the bumpers, mirrors n spoiler. maybe some standard sr wheels, think they would look ace on that. or some cav ceseros (sp?) also think some cav slabs gsi wheels would look good, i think they suit the mk1 nicely.
Lovely car you have there fella. Deffo agree that it needs some differeent wheels.
nice car but these are my ideas, lose the tinted rear lights and windows, lose the SR badge, and either leave the bumpers grey and get some old skool ish wheels or some slabs or cesaros. Nice car though some decent work gone into it!

nice project mate, has come along way. looked heavy with the double 5 spokes on.
could u help me out with conversion questions please.
im putting a 1.4 carb into my 1.2 carb, prety much as u did before.
whats required on the parts front and what re-wiring needs to be done ?
and... will my f10 4 speed fit the 1.4 ?
cheers man :thumb:

well tbh i didnt do the wiring its the only bit i didnt get involved in had a mate do that 4 me lol and as for the box im not sure. would be better to find yourself the proper 5speed box for it tho i would imagine. it was a while since i changed my 1.2 for 1.4 but i think maybe the throttle cable was different. but other than that i think most stuff is the same! but thers plenty of chappys on here that will beable to help you out better than i have lol
