View Full Version : doing the valver conversion on an sri, about the wiring

hi every1, im doin the valver conversion soon, i know the parts i need but the only thing that is bothering me is the wiring as my car is an sri, whats the difference with the looms? is it that they are just taped together and all the insulation tape needs unraveled? does any1 have a wiring guide for the engine to the nova loom, any help is really appreciated

You should have no hassle once you follow this guide.
It's basically a case of matching up wires to what you have, no need to go stripping back your loom or anything :wink:

the wires you need to match up are:
live when ignition is turned on
ecu warning light (optional)
live for fuel pump
water temp guage to dash unit
permanent live from battery
and also your tacho feed wire.
you will have two wires left over, these are for diagnostics at a vauxhall garage. i taped mine up cos i will never use a garage. if the ecu or ingjections fucks up then go for carbs!!!

i am not sure but i think you might have to uprate the fuel pump. i am using cav SRi. it needs a bit of drilling but is simple enough its just a matter of extending you fuel pump live cos the fuel pump goes to the right of the spare wheel well.

and be careful when completed cos it will be evil!!
