was a 1984 b reg but now fitted mk2 spi loom
and facelift front end (gsi)
the brakes are 256mm cav gsi ones
and 300bhp shafts

heres a list of the spec she will have

first couple are in the garage i collected and the laast few are on my drive,
ive been busy sorting the bits out making sure i had everything it went with, so to seal it a bit better i needed to prime the drivers side,
i know its not ideal as primer is porous but it gets painted next week and has a real good cover over it,
also started sanding my £30 gsi bumper down ready for prime but been dodging the rain spits all day:mad:
heres a few pics and a few of the cam cover and timing cover powdercoated a while ago candy pink

As if someone has just got a tarp and lobbed it over the back seats! lol

cool well im still interested in the xe let me know what you want when you get the cally, and wont you need v6 rears for the cav as the turbo will be independent rather than a beam?

davidfox280585

well got it all built up today parts inc
new genuine gm timing belt kit,
payen headgasket and full top end gaskets
pressure tested head with light skim,
new rubber baffle sump gasket

now got it all fitted back in and running, though with the cold and damp and the car living outside all winter i encountered a few slight issues,
the ecu seems to have a trace of water inside but caught it very early,
and the digi clocks tried to catch fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

stripped and was a trace of condensation bridging the circuitory on the bulb resulting in marking the pcb board and melting the bulb,
though it seems to run sweet, now need to refit bumper, check my sumps now not leaking and the fan kicks in and cools:thumb:
pics soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sundays good, seems to pull better now it has some fuel pressure, the fuel pump wire had a bad conection so i resoldered a new wire in:)
the pump is awesome cant hear it at all compared to theexternal one i had on before, and the problem for the underfuelling is the hose i had on the inner where the guts of the spi pump were had mushed with the fuel and gone flat thus limiting the fuel it was getting, though really need to fit my clutch cable, throttle cable paint my belt cover and get the rack rubbers on tracked up as its awful at the minute:thumb:

no not got time or money at the minute as its not in my garage and money has been spent elsewhere as just bought a transit recovery and my gsxr snapped chain and thats cost me a few pennieslol
ideally it will come off the road next year for a freshenup in a different colour just want to get everything complete and fine before it gets stripped and done properly:thumb:

thanks to blue peg (rich) for coming and giving me an hand, was a real help and that extra pair of hands were excellent:thumb:

otherwise its all built bolted in,a few hours work and it will be back up running hopefully:p

well with the gsxr taking a fair chunk of my time,i finally got to assess the nova today, ever since i fitted the new bottom end its been knocking, diagnosed it to number 3 big end:roll:
was told when i bought the bottom end it was a good one and was removed as the head went porous:roll: ,
now my old engine ran perfect never used oil or water, just dumped its oil due to the oil pump faulty and span a shell so rather than send crank for grind etc thought id just replace the bottom end,
the bottom end i fitted with the knocky number 3 i stripped today to find the oil was filled with water and number 3 bearing was ****ed :(
now why was the oil full of water and the seller says it was stripped due to the head being porous seems too much of a coincidence as i 10000000% know my head is good as i spent a fair but having it skimmed and pressure tested at my local head specialist recently and ran perfect on the old block,i used all new bolts and a victor reinz head gasket and torqued to procedure so im ruling the headgasket out but anything is possible at this stage, going to try a set of shells in it and see how i get on:(
