Its smooth going through the revs and on tick over. But its lost power and wont rev out past 3000 or 4000 rpm. Any have a idea what this could be. Ive already changed the plugs, leads and dispack

Crank sensor or cam sensor

Is the EML wired up

Only common problem with the engine is EGR valve sticking or misfire

Yea the eml is wired up.And ive blanked off the EGR valve.

So Adam what would you think is worth trying first. the cam or crank sensor first?

Check the plugs for both sensors, and check the crank sensor bracket isnt loose first.

id say crank sensor mate ive had a tigra once and the crank sensor bracket had snapped off all together and the car went into limp mode. and it wouldnt rev past 4k. sounds the same. might be an open circuit in the crank sensor.

Well ive changed the cam sensor aswell now and still the same. So just the crank left to do. But do anyone know what size spanner i need top undo the bolt. I cant find any of mine and need to buy a spanner to change it. Am i right in saying its a 10mm

I THINK the sensor bolt is one of those E-Torx ones?

If not, it'll be a 10 mil

You were right its a 10mm. Ive changed that and still the same. Just thinking if it sliped a tooth on the cam belt would that make it run like it is?

Slipped belt might do. Map sensor??

Are the plugs gapped correctly aswell? .8mm (finger nail thickness)

'False' rev limit is a classic crank sensor symptom - is the wiring ok? Any damage anywhere?

Check the engine earths are good too - the crank sensor shield is earthed.

Yea all the plugs are fine and map sensor.

What is the best way of fixing the belt if it has slipped a tooth or two? Is it just a matter of taking the belt off then turning the pully back or forward then putting the belt back on

Depends where its slipped/cond of the belt, so depends how bad the slip is lol
