opel 1.6l engine

im going searching 2moro for a opel 1.6l engine for my nova.can anyone give me the make of a car and the year. like opel astra 1990-1998 1.6l and if there is a engine code. i have to ring a few scrappies and car breakers so i need as much information as i can get.THANKS FOR ANY HELP :thumb:

ya i am from ireland. a 8 valve or 16 valve will do. it needs to fit the nova mounts

Nova/Astra engines, 8v MPi:
E16SE
C16SE

Corsa/Astra/Vectra(?) engines, 16v MPi:
C16XE
X16XE

Theres also an 8v SPi engine and 8v carb engine found in Astras and Cavaliers, not sure of the codes for these though.

would be C16NZ for the spi I believe, seem to recall that from looking at motorfactors catalogues. also fits since i'm pretty sure mine is a 12NZ, not definite though, it gets no new parts in return for wheezing out 40bhp.
