Depends what engine was in it before? but as a rule of thumb - 1.2carb, 1.4 carb or even a 1.6 carb if you found one.

Thats preety much all using the standard loom, but not using the loom, 1.4/6 8v mpi or even a 16v (smallblock 1400-1600)

well if it was a carbed car you would have to use a 1.0 1.2 1.3 1.4 carbed engine or just wiring in a 1.6 engine but you will need fuel tank and all that to go in

Anything after 1992 (at least) will have injection.

If it was me id go for a smallblock 16v and have a bit of fun, otherwise just a 1.6 mpi or 1.4 mpi would be good, ofc you would need to use the spi tank you have and change the loom.

But like you say, with it being fitted with a 1.2 carb to start with, the easyest conversion is a 1.4 carb (Nova SR)

so the 1.4 carb will bolt straight in then ? and would it be nippy enough ? cheers .

70ish bhp iirc.

Only problem with them is the coil/dizzy setup, as it has its own mini loom. I done the conversion myself not long ago so know it inside out.
