bought this hutchinson design convertable march last year for basically nothing as the bloke i got it of liked wat i was going to do with it.:thumb:
had tax and mot, new tyres,new shocks, new brakes new 32/34 weber carb and i payed 175 for it!!

the basic plan is
outside;
mk 2 front, bumpers smoothed, white roof, clear rear lights, standard plastic grill, 16" white alloys{undecided what ones}

engine;
tuned 1600 runing twin 40's, 4 branch manifold, full magnex exhaust system,

interiour;
white leather seats with red stitching, custom mods to dash and a good sound system

thanks so far for the comments.
at the moment as were waiting for a spray booth, were getting all the engine components done.
gte brake servo, cleaned,sanded and sprayed
driveshafts cleaned,sanded, sprayed, new cv boots
2ltr brakes cleaned,sanded, sprayed

wishbones will be strenghtened and sprayed
anti roll bar cleaned sanded sprayed

basically everything going back on this car will look like new

engine will be getting sum new parts;
water pump
belt tensioners
cam belt
gasket set
plugs
leads
rotor arm
dissy cap
etc..


the engine was built a few years ago and used for bout 3000 miles
all the usual work done, ie lighten n balanced, apr bolts. pistons, ported n polished head....
just need to uprate the cam and pulley

the bodys getting a mk2 facelift, but staying standard.
lucky enough the shell was clean enough,just had to weld were the rad goes as the old one was leaking an put sum rust there.
i have loads of photos but thought id put up enough as it is.

by the end of this weekend im hoping ill have the whole shell in primer and the engine fully sprayed and put back together

well weve been working on it for a month now and just needing a drivers door and a spray booth to spray it. we gave our slefs a deadline which was usc at pod 31 july but itll be finished a month early.

get the carpet back in and start putting white leather on the side pillars and front wondow screen pillows.

6..started leathering the pillars on the inside
7..driveshafts ready to go back on

front body panels back on
calipers finished and put back on
new brake lines
new petrol lines
carb back on
exhaust back on
water pipes back on with rad and fan

well been busy with all the small bits on the car:

cleaning the washer bottle,
lid for the brake servo,
cleaned the speedo plug thing,
cleaned, sprayed the coil,

fitted them

cleaned sprayed the ignition cover. the dash is now finished
fitting acoustic material on the inside panels, was doing it in white leather but didnt like the finish. plus thought it would to much with white leather seats going in wen i get them done.

todays plan is to finish of the acoustic material , guna do the whole boot,
put in gte front seats for now. and fit rear bench just so parts are out the way as my garden is looking like a garage.
try to find my old rear quarter panles, (may of thrown them)!!! and front kick panels so i can get them sorted.

am hoping to get the doors, bonnet, boot, bumper and plate recess sprayed and fitted this weekend.

will post some pics of pregress later on

it isnt stayin on for long as im going to put twin 40's on so thats y it isnt that clean. put the fuel pump and filter on as a trial.

well it was alot of long evenings in me garden. i had a gazebo up as a makeshift shed with a table in the middle of it. haha and the washing line holding all the parts up while they were sprayed.

Try a Corsa pipe.

If your still in need in a week or so il be removing my novas engine (Corsa sport engine) so i could lend you the pipe so you can try it if you like.

small update,
got the coil setup
new rad fan
passenger door all back together,ie locks,windows,door panel.
tinkering with little bits. will get fresh pics as soon as i sort me phone out

cheers mate looks different to the last pics as its all complete now just the last minor touches but i havent put half the effort you have eg painting everything im leaving all the bufty jobs like that on the series one turb

Hope you have deep pockets, as them Corsa alloys sell for silly prices 2nd hand, more so then speed lines, as all the young Corsa c lads want them for there 1.2's.. I know as Ive tried to buy 3 sets now for my Astra, I'm not going to bother anymore as I'm not spending £300 for scuffed wheels missing center caps, and no tyres..

If i was you i would use what you have and build the car, get it running and then think about what wheels you want mate.

apparently i got a flared hip and me nerve is playig up in me back.

so carnt even touch the car,i just keep staring at it from me window and its gettin on me nerves.
other then that im boreeddddd!!! only so much of fifa 11 an cod i can take. lol.

now ay mate sorry to hear about that,i bet your bored,well you need all the rest you can get,how long the recovery period then,ive got fifa11 what you think of it,im not that keen on the new layout tho,

the odds and sods are,refit all the dash,try and straighten the window surround bits(cant remember the name),sort some tyres out,get me wheels painted,get a front slam panel fitted,sort some bucket seats out
