View Full Version : Lowered Cavaliers
Right, I know this is a Nova forum but since this is general car chat, I don't want any supposedly witty comments from the usual bunch
I'm almost done spending on the Nova now, which will free up some of my salary to spend on the Cav. I know a lot of you guys have Cavs too so could you post photos and tell me which suspension you have, what you think of it etc please? :thumb:

Mines on standard dampers atm, and running -40mm SRi springs, due to them being on a diesel she sits lower and for some reason makes a pretty comfortable ride in comparison to a nova on standard dampers lol
I miss her so much and kinda cant wait for winter to put her back into use:cry:
Pistol Pete
29-04-09, 09:20 PM
I was just about to suggest to Lynz a 40mm drop would be fine IMO. Cavs look silly if too low.
Asa-James
29-04-09, 09:23 PM
so are the SRi springs lower than standard items? theres an SRi loon in my scrappes... if thats the case i may have to take a trip down
Yeah but mines lower than it would be on normal -40mm springs with the extra diesel weight she is more like -60mm at least, cavs look awesome slammed, Asa, yours needs another 30mm down at least:thumb:
Edit, noooo
My springs are lowering springs for an SRi, with mine being a weasel she is heavier!
It's going to be slammed and on trims LMAO

Petes (love one, new with new cooler reg) is on koni springs, 40ish mm with its std air ride style shocks (its a dippy, they have an pump up air system)
Robs (filp) i think koni shoch and spring. 60mm iirc.

I like that last white one:thumb:
The grey one does it for me lol looks like one of them dogs scraping its ring along the carpet
The Grey one was so extentively lowered, it had the chassis chemically removed to allow a further 4" Drop. By chemically, I mean rust. lol
It was so low it caught and wore through all the fuel lines.

I think the speedlines look just a touch too small on the cav, could just be where i'm used to seeing them on novas though and, tbh I don't see the cav attraction myself... I'm now off to build myself a debris proof shelter to sit in for a bit lol

if i'm honest i was always the same, my dad's had them for years, and i never like driving his. but mine came up cheap, decent mot and low mileage so i bought it as a winter bus. and now i'm very reluctant to get rid of the lardy wallowy underpowered barge that is my cav

Lush cars. When I got mine, I hadn't really ever driven anything except Novas. It felt like a right bus initially, but within a day or two I was throwing it around like a Nova. Mine had H&R springs so I wouldnt be surprised if they are a bit 'boaty' as standard. Mine was Westminster Blue, it got stolen about 1 month into ownership & it was just a 2nd car whilst the Nova was rotting beneath me.

That was my sumarisation aswell bud, no the grille is more like a mk1 grille in that respect, those missing pieces are part of the front panel and are metal dude!
I had a lovely Westminister Blue GSi Cav but sold it, then it got solld again and hit a lampost at well over a ton. Apparently it twisted so badly only 1 wheel would touch the ground at one time.
