haynes manual. MOT will check more than a service will.

If you want to get through yer mot take the car to a garage and ask them to do a full service highlighhting any possible probs that may fail the mot.

Get yer lights aligned, check yer wheels dont wobble, check yer brakes are good and yer handbrake locks the back wheels ok, check yer steering wheel aint loose and if you can check underneath at all crucial welding joints (boot, front tie bar area, arches etc).

Usual service involves checking/changing oil, oil/fuel/air filters, soark plugs (and ht leads if you want), water in rad (or at least testing it for anti free3ze), top up washer skooshers, tread of tyres, brakes (discs and pads for life left).

Haynes manual is a god place to start.
