im just about to refitt the head on my engine and ive been told by a few people that i should remove the tiny lip on the top of the pistons(not the big lip just the part thats about 1/4 of the big lip)

has any one ever heard of this of done before help would be more than appricited maybe even some rep lol

God NO.

For one you can't do it in situ (just the head off). Secondly I'm pretty sure they help towards the 'squish' area in the combustion chamber. Oh & it'll drop the CR a tad.

i dont mean the big lip that goes right around the piston top but a small lip on the top of the lip if you follow lol

Tbh any method you use is potentially going to introduce alloy filings into the bores... Not clever.
