u wanna speak with mickey owens about this

hes tuned his 1700 TD veccy and im pretty sure the 1500TD nova uses the same if not similar setup

im sure his veccy is putting out well over 100bhp but he's never had it rollered

from his spec:

1.7td with top end rebuild, new head, cam reshimmed and fatest headgasket fitted to decrease compresion, modified fuel pump for increased fueling and remove rev limiter, 3 pipe indiction mod, bleed valve fitted to double the factory boost to 1.1/1.2 bar muhahaha ha ha was rolling roaded at 91bhp/122lbf @ 0.85 bar, expecting well over 100bhp when next rolling roaded

so there ya go - if its similar to the 1500 then u need to do all of that :D

them 1.5 TD engines are quite good for modifying apparently it is easy enough to get gsi power ouit of it without much money spending or mods! just a few tweaks and an oil cooler

sorry 4got to add..........

whilst keeping the economy as well!

im on the lookout for something different as a project for next summer.

either a spider would be cool (doubt id get one though :() or a TD van - i think thatd be cool.

in fact id probably go for a normal TD hatch and tint the windows

is yours a van??? or hatch

iv been playing with the idea as having a TD nova as a 2nd car and to put a cav 1.7TD (taxi engine) into it as these have intercoolers and i could tune that a bit aswell. should be easy enough if the flywheel/mounts are the same size!!

In this weeks Bargain Pages..there is a Nova TD for sale......?100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cheap or what!!!!!!!!!

I think its under the Vaux section...or it might be under breaking and salvage...Cant remember and I cant be bothered to go down stairs to look right now.

Just thought I would tell you all in case anyone is after it. If anyone is interested...I suppose I can post up a contact number for it. It also said ?200 with sound system.

Hi

usually about a penny a litre more than 95 but the gain in economy more than gets you that back ( my 106 will do up to 70mpg!!!)
