Alreet cockles!

RIght so im buying an astra van, been looking for 2/3weeks now and ive been holding out for a cdti, then this morning it dawned on me... why?!?

Can somebody please tell me what the difference is between the dti and the cdti! i realise the cdti is the one with the common rail injection system, but not sure what implications this has on everything else,

thanks lads :)

DTI IIRC is the older type diesel, CDTI is the newer (as you say common rail). Other than that i'm guessing the CDTI is a nicer smoother engine, more reliable?? Have a gander on google, i'm sure that will give you some answers.

IIRC my mates mk4 estate (company wagon) had the X17DTl which was miserable as sin & made a noise not unlike Krusty the clown. A real drag.

Okay i will, my the trust be with the PNG massive lol

What reasons why? not being arsy or out, ill still hold out for it if you lot can't give me any concrete reasons like but just wondering! Are they different/better componants?

The vaux one is less powerful and prone to headgasket problems.

Cheers, that guy who im chatting to who's flogging one has done the head gasket not so long back, but the vans only done 98k, so can i assume that within another 90k the head gasket will need doing again then?

IMO 90k is good lol, most of my cars have had the gaskets done by then, weather it be french or german lol
