im running a c20xe and im thinking about fitting a power cap i was wondering what people think of them and is there actully any power gains to be had from fitting one as ive heard good and bad but never heard of any real power gains im not to bothered really as im also looking at one just to my my bay tidyer opinions please :thumb:

Yes, i too have heard they up the power slightly by forcing more air into the inlet.. they also take up way less room compared to the SFI box and can be painted to suit the car/engine:D

mines fitted for looks and space (mine will get polished soon)i cant really see haw it gives you any more power, me thinks its just sales jargen!

lol that thread made me LOL!!! I have a powercap fitted but only because the car my engine was in had it fitted. Never been that sure they increase power. Help breathing yes.

according to the guy who remapped my 20xe it makes a difference in the airflow at high rpm. little more air or something like that.

but it just have it cos it looks better that that big box (and it was already on my engine when i bought it lol)

i actually think the sfi box looks tidier. i wont be getting one for mine.

i was under the impression you get bugger all horsepower but a little bit more torque with them

You might gain a bit of peak bhp, but you will loose low/mid range torque

you gain a little high end torque, but loose a little low end - and compared with a SFI box its the other way around - iirc!
