View Full Version : Wheel adaptors taking power
Just wondering if anybody has put any decent amount of power through a set of 4-5 stud wheel adaptors?
Are you widearched? Cos if not you will need at least ET59 wheels to get under the arches running them.
Why not just do a hub conversion?
Unless this isnt for a Nova?
Answer to original question, i would avoid them like a barge pole IMO.
5 stud adaptors for porsche wheels on my nova Lee
you'll never get them under the arches with adaptors im afraid pal, I rekon the offset would be too low even if you could bolt them directly to the hubs, unless like I said, your widearching it OR you can get some wheels made in a hugely high offset for loadsa money.
I know somone on here (Black, euro look) had porky wheels with a 2.0.

They're 7J and do go on with 195 tyres and and rolled arches (which mine has)
Most porsche wheels are high (50+) offsets anyhow bud
A friend of mine has an MTM Tuned RS4 running 600+bhp and thats on Audi>Porsche fitment adapters
Ive NEVER heard of any problems from running them!
Cheers Stoo, put my mind at rest mate:thumb:, though i was going to have to put them on the saloon lol
Well there you go :) I would have expected them to be uber low offset!
its safe :) 60% of the dutch VW guys run with them, i know a guy with a mk1 golf 20vT with 350++ hp and never had any problems
Cool i was just worrying over nothing then lol

Phil
Likewise, i know a chap with a mk4 running 260+ through them fine.
Already got my adaptors from a private seller mate, also mine being porsche fitment they are 5x130, isn't 5x100 standard vauxhall 5 stud? If so id say go for a 5 stud hub conversion mate.
