Swapping E16SE for C16SE

Right, im struggling to find an E16SE thats anywhere near me, but can get a C16SE from a MK3 Astra. Low miles and was on an auto, so has had an easy life.

Whats needed for swapping these over? Can i just swap the inlets and run the E16 loom?

The C16 has a coil pack, will i need to bin this in favour of a dizzy?

(ive tried search but had no luck btw)

There's a few niggly problems with sensors etc, can you not use the c16 loom out of the astra?

edit: didn't spot it was an auto, are the ecu's any different on those?

The engine is on a pallet at a breakers, so i assume the shell and loom has since been crushed.

Inlet manifold will need swapping to E16 item with its TB & the cam carrier from an E16 so you can fit the dizzy. Rest should be fine, eg crank sensor can be left off.

There is one fitted at present yeah.

So if i strip the C16 down to head and block, fit the E16 inlet/exhaust, cam box, dizzy and loom, it 'should' be good to go?

As Craig Said Shoud Be A Swap Over Job Ie Inlet/ Exhaust Manifolds / Cam Shaft Housing Etc Etc And Dont Forget The Flywheel

It shouldnt be hard to find a GTE cam carrier & cam. I did have 2 spares here but have sold them on NL/png over the years.

A C16 wouldnt have a dizzy. But seeing as your cam is seized & you need to use the E16 UCU etc, you will require a cam housing to suit the dizzy & another cam that isnt scored from being seized.

Your shopping list seems to be;

E16SE dizzy, ECU, loom, inlet man & TB

why dont you have your E16 reconed it probably wouldent cost that much.
